Alumni Reunion Service Projects

The Class of 1984 Reunion Project

During the 2019 Alumni Reunion Weekend, Class of 1984 leaders Arunas Gudaitis and Alberto Luzarraga deftly organized 20+ of their classmates for a work party at the Louison House homeless shelter in nearby Adams, Massachusetts on the Friday morning of their June 2019 Reunion Weekend. The energetic crew mowed, weeded, planted and pruned trees all over the overgrown property which has been unused for three years because of a fire in the house in 2016.  The work of the group was especially welcome with the reconstruction work on the 1899 Victorian house scheduled for completion by the early fall of 2019. In addition to the comprehensive landscape cleanup, some of the reunion crew painted the shelter’s basement pantry shelves.

When their work whirlwind ended, the jovial group took a short lunch break before heading back to Williams. While eating pizza in a shady spot in the front yard, they conversed with Executive Director Kathy Keeser who shared the vision and multifaceted, collaborative approach that the nonprofit takes to address housing insecurity in the region.

2014 Alumni Reunion Service

During the 2014 Alumni Reunion Weekend, CLiA organized a series of service opportunities with varied levels of involvement. CLiA representatives led groups of alumni to work on trails close to campus and to help with housing demolition clean up at the Spruces with Higher Ground Inc.
