Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation Educators – paid position

  • Time Commitment: 3 hours per week
  • Where: Sheep Hill, Williamstown
  • Work Hours: Wednesdays 1:00-4:00pm (and additional hours for students who are able to support field trips)

Work with Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation staff to develop field trip curricula for Williamstown Elementary School and host field trips for grades K-3. Additionally, students will design and run Woodchuck Wednesdays, an after-school nature education program utilizing Sheep Hill’s abundant natural resources and biodiversity. For more information about Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation, visit http://www.wrlf.org.

  • Over the course of the Wednesdays, we did a lot with the kids–but every week there was some sort of craft and/or baking project (rafts, duct tape wallets, home-made butter and rolls) as well as some sort of outdoor nature activity (collecting and observing wood frog eggs, hiking up the hill, playing games, building fires, looking at birds). Leslie was an immense resource of ideas and knowledge, and is great with the kids. Leslie also really took our ideas into consideration, and let us lead specific activities that we brought to the table.
