WES After-School Tutoring

Williams Elementary Outreach

Williamstown Elementary School (WES) After-School Tutoring

Goals & Responsibilities

  • Time Commitment: 1-4 hours per week
  • Work Hours: Mon/Tues/Thurs 3:00-4:00pm, and Wed 1:30-2:30pm

After-School Tutors work in one-on-one or in small groups with Williamstown Elementary students. This is a great opportunity to develop a close mentoring relationship with an elementary student in need of academic support and assistance. The program currently works with 4th-6th graders (could expand to younger children in the future). All tutoring takes place at Williamstown Elementary (approximately 5-10 minutes walking distance) under the supervision of a teacher. No experience necessary, but prior experience will definitely be a plus.

For any further questions, email Tracy Baker-White. To hear from current tutors about their experience, email student leaders Megan Siedman & Kendall Allen.

Testimonials

  • “The program made an incredible difference with my students. They were able to complete homework, but also receive one on one tutoring in various subject areas based on their individual needs.” – Williamstown Elementary Teacher
  • “[I] love the program. Dealing with young kids is a good complement to hectic college stuff, which is why I love it.” – Williams Student Tutor
