Teach to Learn Curriculum Development Summer Internship
The Teach to Learn (T2L) program is a partnership between Williams College, MCLA, and North Adams Public Schools (NAPS). T2L is designed to impact the science learning experiences of undergraduate students by engaging them in a summer-long experience to develop and revise science units for K-6 classrooms.
T2L interns will work with faculty and staff from MCLA and Williams, as well as NAPS teachers and administrators, to develop, test and revise science units for use in elementary classrooms. Training is provided and no previous curriculum development experience is required. Interns will meet with NAPS teachers on a bi-weekly basis to share work and receive feedback. We encourage all students to apply regardless of major, and prefer applicants with an interest in teaching and who have strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
This paid internship is nine weeks long. Room and board are available at Williams College. Students will be paid a weekly stipend set by the college; in 2016, the pay rate was $400 per week.
To apply, you must submit the following form, including a letter of interest, a writing sample, and résumé. Following submission, contact Director of Elementary Outreach, Jennifer Swoap, [email protected] to arrange a meeting.
Only currently enrolled First Years, Sophomores and Juniors are invited to apply for Williams Elementary Outreach internships.
The first application deadline for 2017 is Tuesday, February 28th. The application will remain open, and if positions remain available, submissions will be accepted through Monday, April 3rd. You will be notified of your status three weeks after the application deadlines.
