Ruben Puentedura

World-renowned expert on technology and education, former Harvard teaching fellow, and resident of the Berkshires, Ruben Puentedura has led iPad trainings for Williams students and local elementary school teachers.  WEO staff and teachers from Brayton Elementary attended the November 2013 EdTech iPad Summit in Boston at which Puentedura was a keynote speaker as well as the Leveraging Learning Institute in Auburn, ME, in November 2014.

In his work with Williams students and North Adams teachers, Puentedura has challenged them to pose the following question:

How can we go from traditional learning places to a continuum of learning spaces, so that the entire world becomes a place of learning for the student?

In 2010, Puentedura developed the the SAMR model to help guide teachers in effectively integrating technology into classrooms.  North Adams teachers actively use this model as a resource in their teaching.
