Williamstown Elementary School Partnership

The Williams College Partnership with Williamstown Elementary School was started over 20 years ago under the auspices of a grant for Science Education from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  It has grown to include the placement of over 80 Williams College students each semester in programs at the school, including Classroom Helpers, Recess Buddies, Science Fellows, and After School Tutors. These Williams students participate in the programs through work-study or off-campus jobs.

An additional 50+ Williams students participate through Williams run programs like Adventures in Learning, Big Sibs, BioEYES, field trips, and other connections.

The WES/Williams Partnership programs provide undergraduate interns with an opportunity to learn about careers in the field of education while giving them hands-on experience in the classroom.  It simultaneously provides much-appreciated assistance to the WES teaching staff and amazing role models for the elementary students!
