Summer Science Lab 2023 is complete. Fifty-nine students participated in the labs over the course of two weeks. Thanks to all those on the SSL staff who made this experience possible.
Words cannot properly express the gratitude to Emeriti Professors David Richardson and Charles Lovett for creating this program and sustaining it for 25 years. It is hoped that SSL will continue for many years based on the program they have created.
Please check back in March 2024 for details regarding SSL 2024. (updated July 28, 2023)
The Williams College Summer Science Lab is a fantastic science experience for children in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in the 2022-2023 school year. Students in groups of four will experiment with various substances in Williams College laboratories. Williams College students will guide each lab group in investigating multiple chemical reactions relating to solids, liquids, and gasses. Two lab weeks are offered in July. Monday – Thursday afternoons, Emeriti Professors David Richardson and Charles Lovett will present chemical mysteries to the young scientists. The following morning, the professors will explain, through demonstrations and experiments, the chemistry behind those mysteries.
