Classroom Helpers: Fellows act as classroom helpers and develop a close relationship with students and a teacher at Lanesborough Elementary School and provide support for teachers and students. Spanish-speaking  and Mandarin-speaking helpers especially needed to work with the six students with English as their second language.   This is an especially wonderful opportunity for someone considering a role in the field of education (though not required!). Job responsibilities include providing learning support to individuals and small groups of students, performing administrative tasks, working with students during specialist times, and supporting teachers with other needs. Please note that Fellows are most effective when they can make a serious time commitment to the position, and this will be taken into consideration when making matches.

After-School Homework Help: Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups, working with student(s) every week to develop a close mentoring relationship with children needing support and assistance or just someone to help them out with their homework. All tutoring takes place at Lanesborough Elementary under the supervision of a teacher. No prior experience is necessary, but certainly appreciated! Time commitment is Tuesdays from 2:30-5:00 pm, with tutoring occurring between 3:15-4:15 pm.

Lanesborough Elementary is about 25 minutes from campus.  The CLiA Coordinator can help you arrange transportation to the school.  Options may include carpooling with other student workers, a ride arranged by the Coordinator, driving a college vehicle, or driving a personal vehicle and getting reimbursed for mileage.
